Text: Bush Travel to APEC

(Modifies planned travel to Asia in October) (150)

The White House September 25 announced that President Bush will attend
the Asia- Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum in Shanghai in
October as scheduled, but is postponing planned stops to Tokyo, Seoul
and Beijing.

STATEMENT BY THE PRESS SECRETARY

President's Travel to APEC

President Bush has modified his planned travel to Asia in October. The
President will attend the APEC Leaders Meeting in Shanghai on October
20-21 as scheduled, but is postponing planned stops in Tokyo, Seoul,
and Beijing. These visits will be rescheduled when circumstances
permit.
