Press Briefing on Enhanced U.S. Visa Procedures

U.S. Embassy Consul General Michael D. Kirby, and Director-General for Overseas Resident
Affairs and Consular Affairs Bureau, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Lee Joon –gyu will address the media on Thursday, September 15, 2005, at the U.S. Embassy Information Resource Center in Nam-young-dong. The press briefing will take place shortly after the conclusion of the Visa Issues Working Group Meeting, a quarterly event in which USG and ROK officials discuss visa matters and other consular issues of interest.

The briefing will begin at 11:00 a.m. Doors will open to the press at 10:00 a.m. All press must arrive early to enter the center in order to allow sufficient time for security clearance and equipment check on entering the press conference site.

Journalists must bring their press card and photo I.D. with them. Consecutive interpretation will be provided throughout the event.
