NEWS RELEASE
Press Release #051024-1
OCT 24, 2005

During the recent Security Consultative Meetings, I had the opportunity to visit your busy and important city. We were able to hold useful and substantive talks with a wide range of senior Korean leaders, including President Roh. The arrangements and organization to support this gathering were first-rate. I also had a chance to see traditional Korean drum music performed, which was most impressive.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time in your city, which I have visited and enjoyed several times over the decades. Every time I come to Seoul, I am impressed with the extraordinary expansion of the city, the energy and the thriving business community.

My thanks to the people of Seoul for your gracious hospitality!

Sincerely,
Donald H. Rumsfeld
U.S. Secretary of Defense
