Robert Ogburn, U.S. Embassy Press Attaché

As of 24 August 2005, Mr. Robert Ogburn took office as the new press attaché of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul.
Robert Ogburn served in Korea from 1988-1993, first as deputy cultural attaché in Seoul and later as director of the American Cultural Center in Daegu. During his time in Seoul, Robert helped organized exchange programs for Korean journalists, scholars and other thinkers to experience America firsthand.
After serving for five years in Korea, Robert served in Cairo, Egypt as deputy press attaché for economic affairs and then he returned to Washington, D.C. to serve as briefing coordinator at the State Department’s Foreign Press Center.
After his Washington experience, Robert Ogburn served as Public Affairs Officer in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Robert was born in Seoul as Woo, Chang-jae and was adopted by American parents when he was 10 months old. He grew up on the East Coast of the United States. He holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, an MA from the George Washington University and a BA from the University of Maryland. Robert is married and has two children.
