Passport Cards
The U.S. Passport Card can be used to enter the United States from Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Bermuda at land border crossings or sea ports-of-entry and is more convenient and less expensive than a passport book. The passport card cannot be used for international travel by air.
All U.S. passport card applications submitted at the U.S. Embassies and Consulates are sent to the United States for processing. If you are applying for a passport card along with a passport book, please note that they are processed separately. The processing of a passport card can take an additional month or two and can be mailed to you separately
For more information about the passport card, please visit the Department of States website.
