Consul General Press Event

The Consul General of the U.S. Embassy in Seoul will hold a press conference on Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at 1:30 p.m. to demonstrate and explain the new finger scanning requirement for U.S. visa applicants.

The press conference will take place in the non-immigrant visa intake area on the south side of the American Embassy, across from the Korea Telecom Building, in Jong-no.

Journalists interested in attending the press conference should register by 3 p.m. on Tuesday, August 17, 2004. Please call the Press Office on 02-397-4637 to register. On Wednesday, registered journalists should arrive by 1:00 p.m. to allow sufficient time for security screening and must bring their press card and photo I.D. with them. Cell phones, portable computers, and other electronic devices must be left at the security desk. Tape recorders and cameras will be permitted.
