How to Reapply
Applicants ineligible under Section 214(b)
Applicants are ineligible under Section 221(g) of the INA because some document or information, such as an Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status (I-20), SEVIS confirmation, or a valid passport, is missing. If you are ineligible under Section 221(g), we will give you a green ineligibility letter, listing what is needed and explaining how to reapply. Follow the instructions carefully and re-submit your visa application.
Your re-application must include:
A receipt from the Shinhan Bank for the visa processing fee. The fee may be paid at any of the bank's branches in Korea. There is a branch only a short walk from the Embassy; more
A new visa application fee is NOT required for 221(g) ineligibilities within one year.
A courier receipt from an Embassy-approved courier company (Ilyang: 1588-0002; Hanjin: 1588-0011). Please contact Ilyang or Hanjin courier company directly for pick up and delivery information. more

All documents submitted with your first application.

Follow one of the instructions below indicated on your 221(g) ineligibility letter.
Please reapply by scheduling an appointment at www.us-visaservices.com or by calling 003-08-131-420 (M-F, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM).
Please reapply by personal interview. No appointment is necessary. Please appear at the intake windows any workday at 8:30 am or 1:00 pm (except Wednesday afternoon).
Please reapply by courier: Ilyang (1588-0002) or Hanjin (1588-0011). No interview is required.
Effective February 12, 2007, applicants found ineligible for a visa under Section 214(b) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, as amended (INA), may schedule an interview if he/she wishes to reapply regardless of when the applicant was found ineligible. Please see the instructions below.
If an applicant is found ineligible under Section 214(b) of the INA, we recommend that he/she reapplies only after his/her current family, social, professional or economic circumstances have changed significantly and/or if there are important facts that were not presented at the initial interview. Applicants who are ineligible under Section 214(b) are given a orange ineligibility letter.
If you choose to reapply, please schedule an interview online at www.us-visaservices.com or by calling 003-08-131-420 (M-F, 8:30 AM-5:00 PM). When you reapply, you must bring the following documents with you to your scheduled interview:
The orange letter of ineligibility you received.
Signed passport valid for at least six months after your date of entry into the U.S.
Electronic Visa Application Form (EVAF DS-156) with photo.
Supplemental Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-157).
Contact Information and Work History Nonimmigrant Visa Application (DS-158) for student (F, M) and exchange (J) visa applicants only.
The visa processing fee receipt from Shinhan Bank.
All application materials submitted with your first application.
A statement typewritten in English detailing the relevant facts you wish to make known to us.
Any relevant documents to support your statement.
