General Information

The Information Resource Center (IRC) provides research and reference services for Korean institutions and professionals on various aspects of United States policy: international relations, especially Korean-U.S. economic and security relations, U.S. society, values and politics, and global issues.

The IRC maintains a collection of approximately 4,200 volumes of interdisciplinary reference books, government publications, and think tank reports. The IRC has 143 U.S. magazines and five newspapers titles in hardcopy. An additional 750 magazines titles, some dating back to 1986, are available through online databases.

The electronic information resources of the IRC include the Internet and various online databases such as: Dow Jones Interactive, First Search (OCLC), GaleNet, GPO Access, Lexis-Nexis, Public Diplomacy Query (PDQ), ProQuest Direct (PQD), Stat-USA, and TIARA U.S. Treaties Researcher for searching current materials and for answering reference questions. A CD-ROM network system is setup to provide multi-client sharing of 9 CD-ROM titles.

The IRC is open to the public five days a week (Monday-Friday) from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and is closed on official American and Korean holidays.
