U.S. Export Control Seminar
The U.S. Department of Commerce is pleased to join its colleagues in the Republic of Korea Government to host an export control seminar for Korean industry on June 23-24, 2005, at the Korea International Trade Association in Seoul. The purpose of the seminar is to increase awareness of U.S. export and re-export control requirements for U.S. origin items and to build on our governments’ long history of cooperation on export control issues. Export compliance allows industries to pursue legitimate market opportunities while addressing international security needs. The U.S. and ROK Governments are close trading partners and are partners in all of the international export control regimes. Our continued close cooperation builds on our consultations over the past year on the U.S. export control requirements for U.S. origin items that may be shipped to the Kaesung Industrial Complex. The U.S. Government has supported the ROK Government’s export control review by expeditiously completing all export control reviews requested for U.S. origin items. Our governments’ continued close cooperation on export control issues ensures efficient and secure trade
