On Friday, November 12, the U.S Embassy in Seoul and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the Republic of Korea will co-sponsor a round table discussion on "IPR Protection: A Source of Economic Growth," at the Grand Hilton Hotel Convention Center in Hongeun-dong from 9:30 am until 5:30 p.m.
This round table represents a cooperative effort to highlight our shared interest in protecting intellectual property rights (IPR).
Through panel presentations, open discussions and Q&A, participants will exchange views, ideas and suggestions on how to improve IPR protection. Ambassador Christopher Hill and the Minister for Trade, Hyun Chong KIM, will give keynote addresses in the opening session, followed by panels on each government's current IPR plans, enforcement and intellectual property challenges, and legal regimes of the digital future.
A range of representatives from both governments and from industry will be on the round table panels. Over 60 experts from business, academia, professional associations and the government are expected to participate in the round table. Although it is an invitation-only event, interested members of the press are invited to attend, and can register by contacting IPRSeoul@state.gov.
