American Center Korea’s New Public Hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Weekdays

As of Thursday, December 1, 2011, the American Center Korea (formerly known as the Information Resource Center) at the U.S. Embassy, located at 10 Namyoung-dong, Youngsan-gu, has now open to the public from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays.

The American Center Korea recently completed a major renovation project and with the launch of the new public hours, the American Center Korea introduces Student Advising consultation services.   Anyone who seeks information about the U.S. will see expanded collections at the center, including “Study in the USA,” “Travelling in USA,” “English Teaching & Learning,” “U.S. legislative information” and “Student Advising.” 

The American Center Korea circulates books, DVDs, and magazine back issues to its members.  The American Center Korea also offers other services such as high speed Internet access, DVD film viewing on premises, photo-copying, vending machines with American snacks and drinks, and online database searches.  

The American Center continues to provide free and open access to books, periodicals, DVDs, government documents, and electronic information relating to the U.S. and U.S.-Korea relations in addition to continuing its primary function of providing a wide range of up-to-date information and responding to quick and in-depth reference inquires from Koreans about the U.S. 

The American Center has several powerful databases to answer diverse inquires about the U.S.  The U.S. Embassy cordially invites everyone to make full use of its expanded hours, reference services, circulation, and student advising services in person or by telephone and e-mail.
