MOU SIGNING: U.S. EMBASSY’S “2006 NGO SMALL GRANTS PROGRAM? AWARDS
The U.S. Embassy in Seoul is pleased to announce its decision to award a block grant of KRW9,770,000 to the Korea Council of Volunteering (KCV) to promote youth volunteerism in Korea.
Initiated by Assistant Secretary Christopher Hill during his tenure as the U.S. Ambassador to Korea, the 2005 NGO Small Grants Program to Promote Youth Volunteerism was launched with the mission of making positive connections with more young Koreans and supporting worthwhile community projects. In May 2005, various organizations competed for the grants, and two – the Korea Council of Volunteering (KCV) and the Korea Youth Leaders Association (KYLA) – were selected as block grantees. Based on the success of the experimental project, the U.S. Embassy has decided to continue the project in 2006 and has selected KCV as the co-sponsor.
The U.S. Embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with KCV on Friday, September 15, 2006. For more information, please call 02-397-4654.
