at Gwangju American Corner

On Friday, May 16, from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm, U.S. Embassy Seoul will hold an open house at the Gwangju Metropolitan Mudeung Library American Corner.  This public event aims to further promote the American Corner that was opened in 2004.  English teachers from schools around the area are invited to attend.

Deputy Minister Counselor for Public Affairs Robert Ogburn will give congratulatory remarks and a speech on the role of English teachers in a globalizing world.  There will also be a presentation on introducing English materials which can be used by English teachers, as well as more information on using the English Teaching Forum publication as a teaching aid by Regional Program Officer Jean Vander Woude.  Functions and programs of the American Corner will be explained by Public Affairs Assistant An Sun-nam, while books, films, magazines, and American Corner materials will be presented to the library by Gwangju American Corner Coordinator, Kang Se-jeong.  A reception will follow the Open House.  Media wishing to cover the event should contact Ms. An Sun-nam at 010-9133-2084.
