On Friday, October 31, 2008 at 9:30 a.m., the Information Resource Center (IRC) of the Public Affairs Section, U.S. Embassy Seoul, will hold its Holiday Series Program to celebrate Halloween Day. Patrick Linehan, Minister-Counselor for Public Affairs of the U.S. Embassy, will give a keynote speech on the topic, “The Halloween Tradition in American Life.” The festivities will continue throughout the day and will feature a Halloween costume contest and pumpkin carving show by U.S. diplomat Tyler Carson, music performances by the LRD Band, and quizzes and prizes. Consecutive interpretation will be provided. Participants will be welcomed by Deputy Public Affairs Officer Robert Ogburn, and he will also present awards to winners of the Halloween Costume Contest. The U.S. Embassy Holiday Series celebrates American holidays and other special events. The Information Resource Center of the Public Affairs Section invites college students and other youth groups to participate in the Holiday Series programs.
